Wow, where did the summer go???

I’ve been on a little bit of a hiatus, still doing sessions but considerably less over the summer because…my kids are growing fast and I love the time that I get to spend with them “just playing around”.

The summer goes by way too fast, it seems like I blinked and now it’s time for them to head back to school (insert a big frowny face here).

I have had the best summer however now it’s time to get back in the swing of things.  I was “just playing around” with some new overlays that I recently came across and i thought that I’d share.  These are fun and whimsical overlays from digital eye candy,  you can find them here. These are great for me because they just came out with a “Hush little baby” version and that’s right up my alley with all of  the newborns that I see.   I love to play in photoshop and add  few little surprises to a session.     Take a look.

Whoo hoo!

The sun is finally starting to peek out and I couldn’t be happier  (my clients are too!).

I’m ready to get outside, smell the fresh air and feel the grass between my toes.

I’ve spent these rainy days booking sessions… and dreaming of sunshine!

With that said…

My session availability will be limited beginning now through  August.

I will not be booking weekend dates at all.

I always leave room in my schedule for newborn sessions and  because they can not usually be “scheduled”  they keep me on my toes!

Please contact me in advance if you’re expecting because there are lots of  babies this coming this spring and summer.

I will not likely be able to fit in your newborn session if I haven’t planned tentatively in advance.

Please contact me as soon as possible if you would like for your session (whatever type it may be…newborn/toddler/family)  to take place between now and the end of  August.

Now on to the good stuff!

I met this sweet couple over a year ago when I did mom’s maternity session.

I later had the opportunity to meet their sweet  little girl and we created beautiful memories with their newborn session.

NOW, guess who just turned ONE and we met for a little one year celebration.

We ended up with SO many great shots from this shoot, mom e-mailed me and expressed how happy she was that she would be receiving all of the photos on a disc because it was going to be impossible to choose.

This just confirms that my new way of pricing my sessions is making my clients HAPPY!

I love this one in color however it looks great in black and white as well!

They grow so fast and I am so privileged to be able to capture beautiful memories.

….well, kinda,not really….I sure hope so!

With all of this cold weather and the several “snow days” that we’ve  had, it’s got me thinking and dreaming of SPRING!

I’m now booking Spring sessions and it seems that everyone has “cabin fever”  and… my spring sessions are going  fast!

If you’re looking to book a toddler/family/senior portrait session with me between April and November, now is the time to give me a call because I have several dates available and…I WILL  have a wait list.   I hate turning people way however, there are only so many days/times/hours available.

BIG NEWS!  I’m changing the way that I structure my sessions in 2011.  WHY?

Because…..I LOVE being a mom…..I LOVE photography……I LOVE my clients.    Enough said?

Probably not, I’ll explain.

I’ve decided to change the way that I structure my sessions in 2011 to make things more efficient.   More efficient for me and for my clients.

It seems like everyone wants their digital files…..and quite frankly, I want my clients to have them!

I know that we live in a world where everything is going digital.  With that said, photographers do not like to “give” their digital files  away without a hefty cost.  I understand the reasoning behind that and I have a great amount of respect for the photography world.

This is where I am at this point in my life and my photography career….

1)I’m a busy MOM…that is my first love.

2)I started my photography business because I LOVE photography!

3)I have spent countless hours and late nights on the computer placing orders and while that is great,  it’s not what I LOVE about the business.

SO…I guess for me this is getting back to the basics…doing what I love, makes me happy and balances my life and family at this point in time.

Now don’t get me wrong…I’m not “GIVING” away my sessions, however I am going to charge a basic price for the session and the digital files.  Simple and easy.

I have already had lots of  interest from returning clients that always had a hard time choosing because “there were too many good ones to choose from”  they’re super excited that they will have all of their images.

The last few months have been wonderfully busy and my blog has suffered.   I have had so many great sessions and I plan to share more on the blog.

I love to blog, I want to blog, I even have what I want to say in my mind and a picture to go with it but for some reason I fail to blog.  Dear Blog, I will do better!

Now onto the good stuff!  This little gal was just about as sweet as it gets (love the little bit of  fur on her shoulders:)  and her mom was up for anything so we tried out some new props and I LOVE how they turned out!

Big brother was pretty sweet, too.My favorite! As always, thanks for looking! ~T

Simply Adorable…

I’m in loooove with how this session turned out.

I’m SO  fortunate to have so many new parents that completely trust me to work with their brand new babies.

That’s a big deal!

I remember the day that my babies were born like it was yesterday.

I understand the overwhelming feeling that goes with it,  all of a sudden you have ALL of the concerns that come with being a parent and protecting this little being.

My babies are 7  and 10 now and I still feel that way.

This little gal was so sleepy (and mold-able) and her mommy and daddy were delightful to work with

Miss R is the happiest little gal on the planet!

We braved the heat on a hot Missouri day (a big thanks to her mom and dad)  and she was a trooper.

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing her since she was just a few days old and she never disappoints,  she’s just a joy.

I have the BEST  job ever!
